In looking at the overall health of you revenue cycle, one should consider the following benchmarks:

1. For Physicians is your Insurance A/R >120 days more than 20% of your total A/R?
2. For Hospitals, is your Insurance A/R >90 days more than 20% of your total A/R?
3. Is your cost to collect >4% of the your gross charges?
4. Is your Insurance Denial % > 10%?
